Pokémon GO City Safari Hits Sydney This Weekend — Here’s Your Quick Refresher

Get ready, Trainers — Pokémon GO City Safari: Sydney is finally here, arriving this weekend for Australia’s first-ever City Safari event. On December 13 and 14, Sydney transforms into a citywide playground as thousands of players take to the streets for two full days of exploration, challenges, and exclusive Pokémon encounters.

Running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. AEDT both days, the event turns some of Sydney’s most iconic destinations — from Circular Quay and Darling Harbour to Manly Beach and the Royal Botanic Gardens — into must-visit stops packed with special spawns and activities.

What’s Happening Around the City

  • City Safari Stamp Rally: Visit seven designated locations, including Centennial Park and Darling Harbour, to collect stamps and unlock an encounter with Eevee wearing an explorer hat — a highlight for collectors.

  • Exclusive Pokémon: Mudbray, making its City Safari debut, will be appearing in the wild across Sydney all weekend.

  • Event Bonuses: Expect extended Lure Modules, bonus trades, and the chance for your Buddy Pokémon to bring you the limited Tiny Compass souvenir.

  • Official Booth: Trainers heading through Darling Harbour can stop by the City Safari booth near Darling Square to snag the exclusive Pikachu sun visor giveaway.

Tickets & Add-Ons

Tickets begin at AUD$19, with optional raid and egg hatching upgrades available. A two-day upgrade can be added for $14 for those wanting the full weekend experience.

Heading In? Here’s Your Reminder

Whether you’re a Sydney local or travelling in for the event, this weekend is set to combine sightseeing, city exploration, and Pokémon GO excitement in a way no Australian event has before.
