CATAN Studios’ Kevin Hovdestad Joins Asmodee’s Big PAX Australia Debut

Global tabletop powerhouse asmodee is officially landing in Australia, and they’ve chosen PAX Aus 2025 as the stage for their debut.

As part of the celebration, CATAN Studios’ Kevin Hovdestad will be on hand throughout the weekend to mark the 30th anniversary of CATAN.

Fans can dive into the refreshed 6th Edition, join rapid-fire CATAN Connect sessions, chase down exclusive dice, and even test their skills against tournament champions for a shot at prizes.

The booth won’t just be about sheep, wood, and wheat.

Star Wars: Unlimited brings demos of Set 5: Legends of the Force, complete with a Darth Tyranus promo card and a limited collector’s edition R2-D2-themed box set (only 500 units available).

Designer Karl Lange will also run hands-on sessions of Octocube, while the Asmodee Games Showcase highlights a stacked line-up including The Sims Board Game, Flip 7, Exploding Kittens’ latest titles, and licensed hits from The Lord of the Rings and The Witcher.

Beyond the show floor, asmodee is backing the local scene as the presenting partner of TGDA’s DevCon 2025, helping support the next wave of Australian tabletop creators.

Or as asmodee’s David Nye put it, “This is more than a booth, it’s a celebration of play.”

And with CATAN, Star Wars, and everything in between, the celebration at PAX Aus 2025 looks huge.
